New Delhi: Ahead of general elections in India, a court banned madrassas in India’s largest state, Uttar Pradesh, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in power.

According to the report of the Reuters news agency, the said decision of the Allahabad court will increase the distance between Narendra Modi’s ruling nationalist party BJP and the Muslims even before the elections, and along with this, the 2004 ruling on the management of madrasas in Uttar Pradesh. The decision has been cancelled.

Based on an appeal by Indian lawyer Anshuman Singh Rathore, a two-judge bench of Justices Subhash Vidyarthi and Vivek Chaudhary wrote in their judgment that the state government should ensure that tabla children between the ages of 6 and 14 are enrolled in duly registered institutions. Don’t miss out.

Iftikhar Ahmed Javed, Head of Madrasah Education Board in Uttar Pradesh, said that 27 lakh students and 10 thousand teachers of 25 thousand madrasas will be affected by the decision of Allahabad High Court.

Uttar Pradesh’s ruling BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi said in a statement that he is not against madrassas and is concerned about the education of Muslim students.

He said that we are not against any seminary but we are against discrimination, we are against illegal funding and the government will decide on further steps after the court verdict.

Javed, the national level secretary of the BJP’s minority wing and madrassa functionary, said that he was caught between his party’s priorities and his community and many Muslims were calling him saying that the decision was taken during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Is.

The Uttar Pradesh government shut down the funding program for madrassas in January, leaving 21,000 teachers unemployed.

Javed said that the court’s decision applies to all madrasas in the state, whether the funding is being done at the private level or the government is providing funds.

The time frame has not been fixed by the court, but Javed said that madrasas will likely not be closed immediately.

Meanwhile, the state of Assam is also ruled by the BJP and hundreds of madrassas are being converted into traditional schools.

It should be noted that general elections are scheduled in India between April and June and the possibility is being shown that Narendra Modi’s BJP will once again take power, but on behalf of Muslims and human rights organizations, BJP members and Those associated with them are held responsible for spreading hatred against Islam and damaging Muslim properties.

Narendra Modi, on the other hand, denies that there is any religious discrimination in India and the BJP government maintains that it is correcting historical wrongs, including the recently inaugurated Hindu temples. It is built in place of Babri Masjid which was built in 16th Sadr and Babri Masjid was martyred by Hindu extremists in 1992.
