Mumbai: South Indian actress and social media influencer Soumya Shetty has been arrested by the police for stealing 150 tolas of gold.
According to the Indian media, a retired government employee named Prasad Babu filed a complaint against Soumi Shetty for stealing 150 tola gold. According to the FIR, the actress and Prasad Babu became friends during a film audition.
Prasad Babu stated in the FIR that after friendship, Soumya was impressed by his beauty and then started coming to his house, while she came to know that gold was missing from his house.
According to the FIR, when Prasad’s family returned home from a wedding, gold was missing from the house, after which Prasad accused actress Soumya of stealing the gold.
Prasad says that Soumya stole about a kilo of gold from his house little by little and went to Goa to live a life of luxury with the stolen gold.
According to the Indian media, the police have started investigating Soumya Shetty and other 11 people with the help of CCTV footage and fingerprints, and during the investigation, 74 grams of gold has also been recovered.
Police said Soumya Shetty threatened during investigation that she would not be able to return the rest of the gold and would commit suicide if forced.
